Asha graduated from the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs and has been given an Fulbright to research constitutional reform in Bogota. Her law degree was obtained through Yale Law School, where she worked as a Coker Fellow and a law clerk for Justice Juan R. Torruella of the U.S. Court of Appeals First Circuit located in San Juan Puerto Rico. She is admitted by state bar associations in New York, Connecticut and Connecticut. Asha has published a number of op-eds for instance, the The New York Times The Wall Street Journal The Washington Post. Asha also works as a legal adviser to ABC News. Asha is an editor on the board of Just Security and a member of the Council of Foreign Relations.
